Qurbani in Palestine
A message for you
from Palestine
Dear friends & brothers in the UK & around the world,
I am writing to you today not just as a colleague or an activist, but as a friend who sees the reality on the ground every single day in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
As you know, the situation here has become incredibly difficult. We are living under a tight military grip that has essentially frozen life as we know it. Since the start of the war, extreme poverty has reached levels we haven't seen in decades. Our workers can no longer reach their jobs, and even those in the public sector - our teachers and nurses - haven't received their full salaries in months. For many families here, the luxury of having meat on the table has completely vanished; it is a struggle just to provide the very basics.
This Eid, we want to bring a small sense of dignity and joy back to these homes through your Qurbani. I know the prices in Palestine are high compared to other places, but the reality of the siege and the cost of fodder has made livestock very expensive:
- Sheep: £600 per head.
- Cows: £3,010 per head.
- Shares: A cow is divided into 7 shares, meaning you can participate with £430 per share.
I know this is a significant ask, but your contribution stays directly here to support the resilience of families who are truly at their breaking point. To ensure your peace of mind and full transparency, we will provide full photo and video documentation of your specific sacrifice, from the moment of the slaughter to the distribution to the families.
Your kindness is what keeps us going. Let’s make this Eid a reminder to our families in the West Bank and Jerusalem that they are not forgotten by their friends abroad.
Watch Your Impact, Unfiltered
See our teams delivering food, water, and medical aid across Palestine, including Gaza. No stock footage, just real distributions and real families. This playlist is updated regularly so you can follow the work as it happens.
FAQ
Do you take money from my donation?
No. We operate as 100% donations policy charity. Your donations fund your chosen projects entirely.
Our running costs are covered separately through Gift Aid, so if you’re a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid box at checkout to add 25% at no extra cost. This allows us to cover admin, marketing, staff etc through Gift Aid, not your donation.
Can we use Gift Aid for projects?
Yes, UK taxpayers can add Gift Aid. Gift Aid is a government top-up for the charity’s general running costs (admin, safeguarding, monitoring & evaluation, compliance). It helps us deliver and maintain projects but more importantly allows us to function as a 100% donation charity.
Do you provide aftercare and maintenance?
We aim to support aftercare (training committees, providing basic spares, periodic checks), but long-term sustainability relies on community stewardship. If we do everything indefinitely, local ownership can weaken so we balance support with training and handover.
Can I give as Zakat?
Yes, look for items marked Zakat-eligible. We allocate Zakat to eligible recipients in line with Islamic guidance. If unsure, give as Sadaqah or ask your scholar.
