100% Donation, But How Does It Really Work?
You may have seen the phrase before. Every penny to projects. Here is how we keep that promise practical and honest so your gift reaches people who need it most.
What 100% to projects means
When you donate to a project, that money is restricted for real work on the ground. It pays for food, water systems, medical supplies, building materials, skilled labour, and local logistics. It does not pay for office costs or fundraising. 100% of what we receive is used on the project.
How the core is funded
The core is the quiet engine that keeps everything moving. We fund it separately so projects stay at 100%.
Gift Aid from UK taxpayers, optional core support at checkout, and a small number of unrestricted gifts cover things like staff, rent, safeguarding, audits, legal, tech, and insurance.
Pricing and transaction costs
Card and bank processors charge fees. To protect the 100% model, we often price items at slightly unusual figures. This includes an allowance for expected processing costs so that the net amount we receive equals the intended project amount, and 100% of what we receive is used. Where a route still deducts a fee from the transaction, we top it up from the core wherever possible. Receipts are clear about what reached the field.
Zakat, Sadaqah, and interest
Zakat is allocated only to eligible recipients and never used for admin. Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah are used exactly as you intend. Unwanted interest is kept in a separate ledger and used only for public utility such as sanitation. No Gift Aid is claimed on interest.
The money path, a simple example
You choose a water item priced at £31.40. This price includes an allowance for expected processing costs. After the processor takes its fee, the net amount we receive is ~£30. We spend the full amount received on the water project. If you add Gift Aid, that Gift Aid goes to the core to keep projects at 100%.
Ringfencing and controls
Separate ledgers for projects, Zakat, core support, and interest. Dual approvals for larger spends. Verified suppliers and itemised invoices. Stock checks where we store goods. Independent accounting and an annual review. Time stamped media where safe.
Proof you can see
Short updates, photos, and field videos when it is safe to share. Simple summaries that show what was delivered, the quantity, the date, and the location. Instant email receipts for every donation.

A final word
