Emergency Appeal

Help reopen the Jordan Education Centre

The Jordan Education Centre has suffered severe flooding after heavy rainfall, forcing the school to close. Floodwater has caused extensive damage inside the building, including the musalla, children’s playrooms, and essential facilities. Right now, students cannot return to class until the site is made safe, repaired, and protected.

We urgently need to raise £15,000 for a full recovery plan that goes beyond repairs. This will not be a temporary patch-up, it will be a long-term prevention solution designed to stop future flooding.

Your donation will support:

  • Submersible pumps to remove water from below ground level
  • Permanent drainage via pipework and electrical installations
  • External barriers to prevent street water entering the school
  • Internal repairs to restore all areas damaged by flooding

Every contribution brings us closer to reopening the centre and restoring a safe place for children to learn. Please give what you can and share this appeal.

Sheikh Almuatasamellah

Imam of the Cave of the Seven Sleepers, Manager of Jordan Education Centre

Sheikh Almuatasamellah serves as the Imam at the historic Cave of the Seven Sleepers, only minutes from the Jordan Education Centre. His family has held custodianship of the site and its keys for generations, passing this trust from parent to child for centuries. The Sheikh brings a life of worship, service, and stewardship to the Centre, shaping its ethos with humility, balance, and love for the people of Shaam. Under his care, visiting scholars are welcomed, children are nurtured, and the community is invited to gather around Qur’an, hadith, beneficial knowledge, and good character.
