Why donate a Empowering Our Mothers in Bilad Al Sham?

Educate Her. Heal a Nation. Empower an Ummah.

In the blessed lands of Bilad Al-Sham, where the stories of the Prophets and the companions were once lived and breathed, a generation of women are waiting for an opportunity

Not for charity, but for education, dignity, and purpose.

At the Jordan Education Centre, led by the respected Sheikh of the Cave of the Seven Sleepers — a site honoured in Surah Al-Kahf — a powerful movement is growing. A movement rooted in faith, knowledge, and the belief that when you educate a woman, you transform entire generations.

Today, we have identified 67 remarkable mothers from across the blessed region of Ash-Sham — including Jordan, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen — who are ready to begin their journey of learning and empowerment.

Many of these women carry stories of hardship.
Some are refugees.
Some are widow.
Some are young women whose education was disrupted by conflict and poverty.
Among them are women and girls deeply affected by the ongoing Palestinian crisis — traumatised, displaced, yet full of resilience and hope.

They do not seek sympathy.
They seek knowledge.

Why educating women matters in Islam

Our faith places immense honour on seeking knowledge.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us that seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim — male and female. When women are educated, they become teachers, nurturers, leaders, and guides for future generations.

An educated woman raises educated children.
An empowered woman strengthens families.
A knowledgeable woman uplifts entire communities.

Supporting a woman’s education is not just charity. Iit is Sadaqah Jariyah that continues to benefit families and societies long after we are gone.

A centre of light and learning

This Jordan Education Centre is more than a classroom.
It is a sanctuary of growth and healing.

Here, women will receive:

Essential Islamic knowledge and personal development

Literacy and educational support

Skills to rebuild confidence and independence

A safe environment to heal and grow

Mentorship to become role models within their communities

These mothers will go on to inspire daughters, support families, and teach others, creating a ripple effect of goodness that will spread across communities in Ash-Sham and beyond.

How you can change a life

For just £25 per month, you can sponsor a woman’s education.
Or £300 for the entire year will fully support one woman’s journey.

We have already identified 67 dedicated women ready to begin.

Total needed: £20,100 for the year

Imagine the reward of helping 67 mother's gain knowledge, confidence, and purpose.
Imagine the generations of children they will raise and inspire.
Imagine standing before Allah knowing you helped revive knowledge in the blessed lands of Ash-Sham.

I dedicated a water system for my late grandfather. We got photos of the water well, a short video showing people making dua for him. It meant so much.

I never thought about the servicing of a water system. Sadaqah only goes whilst water is flowing and benefiting. I'm happy I chose POL.

We chose this charity because nothing is shaved off the donation. Gift Aid is used for the back office. You don't see that nowadays.

FAQ

Do you take money from my donation?

No. We operate as 100% donations policy charity. Your donations fund your chosen projects entirely.

Our running costs are covered separately through Gift Aid, so if you’re a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid box at checkout to add 25% at no extra cost. This allows us to cover admin, marketing, staff etc through Gift Aid, not your donation.

Can we use Gift Aid for projects?

Yes, UK taxpayers can add Gift Aid. Gift Aid is a government top-up for the charity’s general running costs (admin, safeguarding, monitoring & evaluation, compliance). It helps us deliver and maintain projects but more importantly allows us to function as a 100% donation charity.

Do you provide aftercare and maintenance?

We aim to support aftercare (training committees, providing basic spares, periodic checks), but long-term sustainability relies on community stewardship. If we do everything indefinitely, local ownership can weaken so we balance support with training and handover.

Can I give as Zakat?

Yes, look for items marked Zakat-eligible. We allocate Zakat to eligible recipients in line with Islamic guidance. If unsure, give as Sadaqah or ask your scholar.
